		Nicholas and Vanessa married young, in the hight of passion during the Second World War.  Their marriage was a rather rocky one, as the result of Nicholas' alcoholism and abusive nature. Vanessa stuck it through until after their children had moved out and married. The two seperated briefly, before Nicholas died of alcohol related causes.  For a long time, Vanessa sincerely believed that if she hadn't left him, he wouldn't have died, and as a result never told her children that they had seperated.	1975
