Chronic diseases/Other Illness: Has a past in burning himself and has scars to prove it. The last was when he burned off a tattoo linking him to a crime family in Chicago. Some may also say he's a pyromaniac due to his love of fire. Thad agrees that he's a borderline pyromaniac and that he just uses his love it for the good guys. Wears glasses occasionally for near sideness, he's saving money however to get corrective surgery.

Appearance

Thad has finally started to grow out his sandy blonde hair again even as it falls into his hazel eyes. Having cut it short earlier to try and make him seem older then he looks, Thad finally gave up and will allow those at the Police Department to call him 'the baby faced one' He also normally is clean shaven but when working a high profile case will some times forget to shave for a few days.

Normally a jeans and shirt guy, Thad doesn't own a lot of dress clothes which has gotten him into some problems but having worked undercover narcotics nearly his entire career in Chicago, Thad still has to learn how to dress up. His clothing choice however has gotten younger victims to open up to him seeing that Thad doesn't seem to be so threatening in a pair of jeans, teeshirt and his ratty leather coat.

Currently Thad has several tattoos and several scars from burning on his body. His favorite Tattoo is a tribal design on his left shoulder with the Latin word of 'Nemo' Meanwhile, Thad also covers the large (healed) burn on his right arm with a leather bracelet. The burn hides the tattoo that once linked him to a crime family of Givanico a now defunct crime family in Chicago.

Personality

Generally people note that Thad has a closed off personality type. He doesn't open to many about his life or his feelings. He knows how to play his cards close to his chest and inform people enough to either get them off of his back or to actually allow them to know him. That doesn't stop Thad from being a joker with those that he knows. Children love him because Thad understands them, specially those that suffer from hat he calls the 'Middle child Syndrome'

Under all of the layers, Thad is a loving person. He desires to fix things for people, which is the reason why he became a cop. But he doesn't know his own limits, which usually shows when he breaks by burning or thinking of burning himself. Since moving to Pleasant Port, he's stopped looking over his shoulder.

Personal History

Growing up in the Southie Projects gave Thad a wonderful cover life for when he grew up to become a cop. However that path hadn't even been thought of when Thad was a boy causing problems for his parents. With his older brother getting all the glory of being part of the basketball team and Gina was the brainchild. That left Thad as the mediator between the rest of his family and his younger brother, Richie (who was the hellion of the Cutter family).

At first he tried to simply control the anger that he had pent up for people using the comment 'go to Thad and he'll fix it'. But as his family went through different problems, like his elder brother getting accepted to a fantastic college and turning it down to become a fire fighter. His sister dropping out of college, stating that her professors weren't fair (Thad got an earful for stating that 'Life isn't fair!') He soon took up burning himself as a way of escape. It didn't last long due to his younger sibling finding out, but Thad enjoyed the feeling.

In a move of sympathy, Thad was allowed to move to Chicago to live with a cousin. Free of his family, Thad didn't return home when he informed them that he was going to become a cop. Working his way through the academy, he was swiftly picked up by narcotics due to his good boy looks and bad boy history. He worked his way through the filth of Chicago until he was part of the group that arrested the youngest son of Alexander Givanico.

His own cover strong with Carlos Givanico, Thad was given a swift go a head from the higher ups to become a friend with Carlos. At first only Carlos trusted him but as time went by Thad and the others worked hard on getting to Alexander. By December of that same year, Thad was tattooed as a member of the Givanico family. With that marking Thad was invited to many of the different family meetings and gather evidence to take down the family.

He was part of the SWAT team that took down the family on a cold March morning after a shipment of drugs came in. Though at first the District Attorney attempted to avoid using Thad as a witness, Thad refused to remain in the shadows and agreed to testify against Alexander Givanico.

Placed in protection by the other members of his Squad, Thad snapped after several games of poker and simply staring at the tattoo on his arm. Laster that night he used the lighter (which he still carries) to burn the marking off of his arm. Found by several of his partners in blue, he was taken to the hospital and given some burn cream to care for it. By all rights Thad knew that he should have been placed in the psych-ward for an attempted suicide but the District Attorney fought to keep him out.

Testifying against Givanico, Thad and several others received their gold shields. However as he worked narcotics, and later homicide, he couldn't stop looking over his shoulder. Life after the Givanico case was harder then while working the case and so after working a case involving a runaway seven year old, Thad put in a request to transfer to Pleasant Point after his older brother suggested the city.

With the transfer approved, Thad began the move down. Stopping at his sister's first to meet his niece, Thad was gifted a puppy named 'Cracker Jacks'. At first he was slightly put off by the dog (who was a year and a half old at the time) mainly because he was moving into an apartment. Plus he was a cop....he couldn't have a dog named Cracker Jacks.

But the Supervisor of the apartments approved of the dog, mainly because the dog was well trained and he also enjoyed having a cop on the premise. So Thad kept Cracker Jacks and slowly became adjusted to the dog's strange name. Life went on and Thad became friends with people at Pleasant Point. He's never sure what his work is going to toss at him, but at least Thad knows that he won't be going undercover anywhere.

Family Background

Most of his family lives in Boston, where Thad hasn't spoken with them for a while. His father works as a plummer and his mother works as a High School teacher. He has several siblings (Two brothers and a sister) living in Boston as well. Thad's older brother is a firefighter while Gina, his sister is currently attempting to make a living as a waitress by day and Paranormal investigator by night. Thad's youngest sibling however is currently residing in prison due to taking part in an armed robbery. He really doesn't have any contact with them and states that it is for their protection.

He lives with a German Sheppard that Gina rescued for him. Obviously the dogs previous owners had children for the dog's name is Cracker Jacks. Thad has refused to change it.

Relationships with other Characters

Family

TC- His son. He dated her mother Viv while undercover. He never knew she was pregnant. Due to Viv being out of town, TC now lives with Thad.

Vivienne Givanico- She's the mother to his son. He wasn't sure of his relationship with her from the beginning. Part of him wondered if he was using her or if he really liked her. He saved her from jail time so that had to come from something. However she kept the fact that TC is his son from him and the two have a 'friend' relationship.
 

Friends

Ryan King- They work together and share cigarette breaks. Things can get rather commical at times between them. Ryan's helped him a few times with Cracker Jacks as well. 

Alexander Stone- Met at the dog park when Thad first brought Cracker Jacks there. The dogs didn't hit it off so well but Thad and Alex did.

Acquantances

Kaitlin Collins - They work together at the Station house. Thad values her opinion and believes that she should try for her detective's sheild.

Henry Rodriguez - There was a past history between Thad and Henry and now the two don't get along. Okay so Thad was undercover and he was a regular cop that was out of the loop. But can't these two just get along?

Life

Activities: He loves Rock climbing and working on his car. Plus Thad adores his job...now that he's no longer undercover, going for a run with Cracker Jacks.

Likes: rock climbing, his job, working on cars, fire, classic rock, snow, Christmas time, children (though he would probably never like to have any of his own!), and he has a secret liking to the Disney classic cartoon version of the 'Grinch' (He has to watch it every Christmas), His dog Cracker Jacks.
