Personality

Complicated. It's the first word that people claim Shawn Grayson to be. When not on a job he's quite charming, an admitted flirt and a strong ladies man. People find him to be life of the party. He has no problem making people feel comfortable around him and some will even go on record to state that he is probably one of the most alive person they have ever met. A previous associate once called him 'a smooth talking, free speaking, maniac'. He can talk either very quickly or slowly...it all depends on what exactly he wants to say and who he's saying it too.

But when it comes down to work, Shawn can be down right anal. He follows rules and he makes his crew follow the rules or there's hell to pay. While on a job he barely cracks a smile about anything. It's all get in and get out. During this time he lives by the one rule, never betray the crew and they'll treat you right. More importantly Shawn will treat you right.

Loyalty is something that Shawn holds dearly too. While he's normally a gambling man, after all look at the career he's in, Shawn never bets on three things, family, his crew, or his own life. Family is also important to him which is why he has kept his brother out of his crew in Pleasant Port. He won't allow his children, Anya and Tyler, when they are older to join either.

Shawn is slightly superstitious in believing mainly in cures. The urban legends about black cats and broken mirrors don't bother him that much it's mainly just having to deal with being cursed. He also keeps silent about his leg. He has a limp and the cold makes it lock up. However he refuses to be vocal about the pain, after all it would make people wonder what the hell happened to him in the first place. Something that might lead to them learning the true meaning of him being in Pleasant Port.

An interesting note is just how sarcastic Shawn can be. He's got a quick wit and normally a comeback for everything. Some times things get to him though. He has a soft spot for hard luck cases which can be his undoing, mainly because he's determined to help them. After all, he was a hard luck case...so why shouldn't he help out those that are stuck in the same boat. Some times those feelings may make his final decision on breaking into a place or hell even giving some of his take anonymously to the person. Some of his past associates have called him a sap as well, when it comes to women and 'hard luck stories'. He classifies it as being a 'Very naughty Robin Hood'. Shawn is very vocal about his dislike for dogs if the dog comes towards him, with out its leash and owner. If there's an owner and leash with the dog, he's fine...it obvious to state that Shawn avoids the Dog Park. When asked about his dislike of dogs he comments 'I had a bad experience' and will leave it only at that. 

Personal History

He was born going faster then the limits allowed him to go. His mother had married a man who was always busy and had little time for him and his brothers, when they came along. Part of Shawn always wondered if he was just an obstacle for his father's attention seeing that his father's work, Cole Grayson was a man who ruled the court room and his home with an iron fist. When Shawn was nine he stood up to his father who was drunker then a sunk and ended up with a black eye for his trouble. After that, his father used him more then his mother or little brothers. It was fine for Shawn, he would take it and when he punched his father back, it proved that his family had an actual protector. After that, his father was always gone.

Shawn didn't even have his driver's license when he stole his first car. He was busted for it after he crashed the car into another parked car, but he never forgot that rush. The feeling like he was going to get caught in the act. It was better then being in any haunted house or on a roller coaster. From then on he desired it more and more. So he broke in to houses, stole more cars and just did anything to get that rush. It was his antics that caused his mother to divorce their father in try an effort to and get Shawn on the straight and narrow path.

It didn't work. Shawn was arrested for the first time when he stole a marked car from the auto theft unit. Placed on probation, Shawn was introduced to his mother's new flame. His name was Noah Orser. While Noah took to his younger brothers first and made a serious impression on them, Shawn wasn't at all impressed with him and was blatantly rude the first time they met.

His law breaking ways didn't stop. Stealing Noah's car, Shawn was impressed by Noah when Noah covered for him and basically said he loaned the car to him. With the fact that Noah saved him from jail time, impressed him and the two became close. Close enough that when Noah asked Theresa to marry him, that Shawn was his best man.

Once his probation period was over, Shawn joined his family in Rhode Island but found it difficult to get a job. After all not many people were willing to hire some one with his colorful background. So, Noah stepped up again and offered Shawn a position at his Security firm. There, Shawn was part of a new idea of Noah's. Due to his criminal record and that of another person who worked at the firm, Noah decided to offer security upgrades to those companies and homes that his 'thieves' could get past. The home owners would see their weaknesses and it would give the boys he had a good way to work with their supposed strengths.

It was there that Shawn met and became friends with Carlos Almeida. Like him Carlos came from a past in being a criminal. He had cleaned up his life and was the only family his sister had. But aside from Natalia, Carlos and Shawn got along great together. Carlos had a way of moving like water, while Shawn was skilled with doing the interesting things. One including a jump from a garage to a clients roof. Others included, kicking in a doggie door, allowing an employee to smuggle him in one of the cars, and his favorite...breaking windows. All of which caused their clients to freak out, along with Noah as well, but he loved what he was doing but had no clue he was playing with fire.

Through Carlos he met Natalia at one of the company cook outs. He was rather impressed with her. The woman was independent, knew what she wanted and had no problem of going to get it. She worked at a Civil Rights office in town and Shawn was just impressed with everything that went on with her. So he decided it was important to do one thing...

He asked Carlos if he was able to date his baby sister. After all, he respected Carlos enough to not go screwing around with his baby sister and ruin a friendship with his co-worker and alienate Natalia. He continued to fall for her as they dated and finally after a year and a half of dating, they married. Shawn kept his nose clean and succeeded in getting his own family.

Shawn's life had been going slowly down hill before his mother has even passed away. He had been secretive about it though. Only Carlos knew that Natalia was let go of her job and having his daughter being only eight didn't help the situation. He became the only bread winner of the family at a time when security firm wasn't getting enough business.

Reconnecting with some of his old crew, Shawn was surprised when they offered some new faces for him to work with. Most were good and he soon learned that they had been raised mainly on his legends. At first he wasn't willing to bite on what they were offering but as the money became tighter and he wasn't able to pay the bills, Shawn bit.

Their offer was he would get the largest parts of the take if he assisted them. He did and was soon swept back into the world of being a thief. While he worked for Noah and his people, Shawn worked as a thief. His crew was good and the targets were well planned out. Part of him didn't even know if his mother knew when she died if he was back in being a thief, however if she had ever asked him...he would have stopped.

It was a year later when Shawn did a stupid thing and got drunk with LeAnne Chandler. They had just scored big after ripping off not only a police station but a department store (it was right above the small towns police station) and they were celebrating. Shots lead to beers and beers led to a kiss. While he regrets it, Shawn never knew he was the one that got her pregnant. She lied anyways and suggested it was another friend of theirs.

Things slowly went to the worse when Shawn and and his crew decided to pull a stunt in LA. It was a dangerous plan in the first place. He was out there to have a family vacation and to pull a job in his brother's city (Jake had moved out there a year earlier to become a cop) was suicide.

Still they worked the job and were getting ready to leave when Shawn went to jump into the back of the van when the van door slammed shut on his leg, breaking it. Going down, Shawn was in serious pain. Shawn refused to go to the hospital and make up some story. However as the pain grew, Shawn and his crew came up with a plan that he injured it playing basketball. While most bought it, Shawn learned that Natalia was slowly become aware of his criminal ways.

She learned of it when, she found a lump of cold hard cash in Shawn's jeans pocket from one of his crew mates. Confronting him on it, Natalia out of love and believing that the injury would cause him to retire anyways agreed that if he would go clean she'd keep her mouth shut and not mention it to anyone.

He spent his time after going through rehab and everything else working on the car Carlos brought him after getting sick of giving Shawn a ride when it was winter. The car became his baby as he put all the work on it. However after his leg was better, Shawn was unable to try and avoid the rush. Reconnecting with his crew, Shawn went right back to being a thief.

He was still a thief when LeAnne returned after giving her bookie his name as if he was some one who could pay her debt. Confronting her on it, Shawn learned the horrors of her giving away Tyler, his unknown son, to her bookie as collateral. Refusing to keep silent, Shawn went after him with the cops and was able to have Noah placed as his guardian. He also began then, to put money away for Anya and Tyler got money to be taken care of.

It was near Christmas that his world crashed around him. Having just stolen a large take , Shawn kept some of his take in his car's trunk. He had a few X-mas gifts as well but all was more then what he bought. Natalia worked at a private firm and money wasn't good and Shawn still was the main bread winner. She instantly knew that he was a back to his old ways.

Confronting him on it, Shawn again attempted to plead with her to stay. He even offered to move away from his crew and start a new. Shawn was the fool believing that her silence was and begun to set up plans to move to Pleasant Port. However after buying a house down there, with some of the last of his money from his takes, Shawn returned home to discover that Natalia and Anya were gone.

Seeing that the only thing that was keeping him clean was gone, Shawn decided that he might as well do what he's good at. So when he returned to Pleasant Port after a month of being gone, he brought his crew with him. They worked after a while on getting themselves set up in the town, learning the ways of the people but they also knew one thing. They would need a job.

So Grayson Security services came into production. They would show the weak points of different type of security systems and then give them a system that would work best for them. All the while, casing their homes for a later score. 

Fondest Memory of his past.....

Taken by Anya before her mother moved them to Salem. Shawn keeps it at his office desk next to a picture of Anya. He claims the Ray was trying to eat his fingers along with the Shrimp that sacrificed their lives for the father and daughter bonding time.

Lives With: himself. He also has his co-workers who occasionally crash at his place, but other then that he's alone save for when his step-father, step-sister or brothers stop in. In truth he wouldn't mind it if either Tyler or Anya came to live with him.

Lives in town since: he's been living there for about 3 years. The last six months he's been in Pleasant Port Setting up his new business.

	Natalia Grayson//wife	Natalia found out that he was a thief shortly after he broke his leg and had to have it repaired. While he promised to clean up his act, Natalia discovered that he and his crew were still thieves after finding some of the loot in the trunk of Shawn's car. He again swore to clean up his act and suggested the move to Pleasant Port. When she moved to Salem instead, Shawn brought his crew to Pleasant Port. She's been going by her maiden name Almeida and is currently living in Salem.
	Anya Grayson//Daughter	While her mother goes by the name of Natalia Almeida, Anya refuses to drop her father's last name. She loves her father though part of her wishes that he would give up the life of crime. Thanks to Coop however, Anya is able to get in contact with her father. She calls him about twice a month with a new prepaid cell phone. Shawn calls her Princess. Rumors have it...Anya has her own sticky fingers. She also adores Imogen Heap music. Half of Shawn's takes are in an off shore account untouchable by the authorities and in Anya's name for her to use when she's in college.
	Noah Grayson//Step-father	Noah gave him a new start, like he did Coop and Jake, but Shawn couldn't walk the straight and narrow. He's in a habit of giving second chances due to his father having worked in Attica in a project that he hoped would make life easier for ex cons out in the real world. Currently Noah is taking care of Shawn's son, Tyler.
	Adrianna Orser//Step Sister	He calls her on holidays because she's not really welcoming to his career choice. She lives in Oklahoma City as a Storm Chaser. She feels slightly let down that Shawn returned to crime...but in all truth she believes that he also has a good part some where in him that may come out some time.
	Jake Grayson//Brother.	While his older brother went to work in a life of crime, Jake became a cop in LA. Like their parents, Jake knows little about Coop being part of Shawn's group. He took also keeps in contact with Anya, but he helped Natalia move to Salem. He is married to an EMT out in LA, named Danielle. He adores her and has a sinking feeling her statement about Shawn's leg wasn't from the basketball game is starting to be true.
	Danielle Grayson//Sister in law	Working as an EMT she is also married to Jake. She has only met Shawn once or twice but finds him interesting even if he is a thief. While Shawn was out in LA with his family, it was Danielle that answered the call about Shawn being injured with his leg. While she doubts the story given by Shawn's crew, Danielle has no proof that he wasn't injured in a game of basketball like he said.
	Cooper Grayson//Brother	Baby brother and part of his crew. Cooper, or Coop as he is called in the crew. While he's known for being able to do 'clickity clack on the keys' and he also has some skills with safe cracking. However the interesting thing is, Shawn keeps him away from the limelight and from the actual work he does. Currently Coop is the one who keeps him in contact with his daughter, Anya.
	Carlos Almeida//Brother in law	Met Shawn through Noah Orser and it was Carlos that introduced Shawn to his sister, Natalia. Like Shawn, Carlos had a minor criminal record however he kept himself clean. He's close with Jake Grayson and the two are always talking. Carlos has sworn to kill Shawn however for breaking Natalia's heart.
	LeAnne Chandler//Tyler's Mom	She was also the maid of honor at his wedding to Natalia. While both were drunk, LeAnne refused to admit that Tyler was Shawn's son after she discovered that she was pregnant with Shawn's son. Her actions after leaving the team, has made Shawn wary of familiar faces outside of his group. She retired and was in deep debt. Her actions caused Shawn to nearly get caught, when she did the stupid thing of giving her bookie Shawn's name and Tyler as collateral to her debt, Shawn acted and for once worked with the police in order to save his son. Since then he hasn't had contact with LeAnne but she knows to keep her mouth shut.
	Tyler Chandler//Unknown Son	While Shawn loves Natalia with all of his heart, he did slip up near the end of his marriage with her. That slip up produced Tyler. While his mother never admitted that Shawn was the father he has taken to the boy oddly enough. He's always willing to drop everything for the boy, which showed when he assisted in his stepfather getting custody of Tyler when he was eight. Since then, Shawn has always sent money to Noah in order to help take care of him. In some ways, Shawn believes he's the boy's father.
