From the outside, Naomi Lewis is very much the perfect mother and wife. She is bubbly, enthusiastic and always seems to have a kind word.

On the inside, Naomi is an insecure person. She fears rejection and goes to great lengths to prevent it from happening. When she feels that it is unavoidable she will avoid the situation or even reject another just to prevent her own shame from being revealed.

Naomi is a very simple person; she wants others to be happy with her. Her inability to cope with rejection and arguments has lead to her isolation from her family. While she is able to maintain a relationship with her husband, her children have difficulties coping with the rose-tinted world that Naomi insists upon living in.

Naomi can best be described as a Mary Poppins type, who never sees the negative side of life. While she does love her children greatly she has an inability to express that love properly. She feels it is possible to be perfect, and her secret shame is that she fails to do so.

	Naomi has known Jeffrey for almost all of her life and has been married to him since she was in her mid 20s.
	Adina is Naomi’s eldest child. The two have never really connected, Adina was always Jeffrey’s little girl. The two got along well when Adina was younger, but grew apart as Adina grew up and she became unable to deal with her mother’s ability to cope with the harshness of the real world.
	Micah will always be his mother’s baby. To this day, the two get along, as long as Micah takes care to avoid appearing to cause conflict with his mother. Naomi refuses to acknowledge that Micah has a problem, causing Micah to avoid prolonged contact with her.
