For as long as he can remember, Matt's always had strong beliefs and was proud of the fact that he can and always will stand up for what they are, whether it could happen to start an argument or not. He's never had a problem being himself, although there's all sorts of shades to his personality. He's simple most of the time, but sees the world as a complex place. He's quick to jump into a debate, although he's soft-spoken. And Matt is quite friendly even though he enjoys a challenge and can't hide himself from conflict.

He's a riddle that not many people have been able to solve.

Matthew was born in Virginia and lived there for most of his childhood and teen years with his mother - Patricia, father - James and older sister - Melinda. The family got along rather well, asides from his sister and himself. For some reason, there was always competition there and most of their interactions ended up in arguments. She was perfect, he was a confused kid, and there was nothing that the two had in common aside from their last name.

At an early age he came to the understanding that he was gay, something that his family wasn't the most supportive about. By the time college came around, he went off to Penn State with the intention of never returning to Virginia. There he studied Literature, something that Matt was passionate about, and eventually met another guy named Robert Gray. They became friends, differences aside, and had a relationship that lasted for about 16 months until they realized that it wouldn't really work out any longer. Although they remained friends, it was hard to accept they didn't fit together quite ad both had hoped.

After college, he took a year and traveled for a while, something that he enjoyed greatly. It wasn't so much the time that he spent in the places that he visited, but the fact that he was just able to say that he been there. Putting the degree aside, he went on to later become a flight attendant. When in Virginia now, he'll occasionally visit his family. And when in Connecticut, every so often, he'll actually take vacation time to catch up with his old friend Robert.
