Personality

• Devoted and motherly.  Judy considers her greatest achievement in life to be raising two strong and good children.
• Is rather blind to the character flaws of her children. When either acts inappropriately (usually Martin) she generally makes excuses and dismisses the behaviour.  Martin’s behaviour is usually dismissed with a “he’s just a boy,” completely ignoring the fact that Martin is now in his 30s and has a family of his own.
• Likes to take care of people.  Many of her children’s friends consider her to be a second mother. 
• She is usually the first person to react in the event of a birth, death, illness, or other event, and welcomes every new neighbour, usually with food.
• Unlike many, Judy is genuinely as warm and caring as she appears to be.
• While she doesn’t like everyone she gets along with most people and remains polite with others.
• She doesn’t out right force herself onto people, but rather makes her presence known and makes sure to always offer support and help.

Personal History

• Eldest of two. Had a wealthy but sexist father.  Had to learn to overcome his beliefs and restraints.
• Grew up in Pleasant Port.
• Met Bernard in her late teens at the bank.
• Married Bernard young because she was pregnant.  They lost the child, who they had named Arthur, something which she never really talked about at Bernard's request.  In an attempt to deal with her grief she began mothering everyone around her.
• When she was pregnant with Victoria she was terrified that she would lose the child as well.
• This fear lead, which was repeated when she was pregnant with Martin, caused her to be rather overprotective of her children when they were born.
• Met Ryan briefly the first time he was in Pleasant Port, but thought he was too old for Vicky and was relieved when he left town.  When he moved to Pleasant Port permanently Judy saw how important he was to Vicky and accepted him into the family with open arms Despite Bernard’s initial dislike of him, Judy gradually succeeded in forcing her husband to like their son-in-law as well.
• Met Patricia while she was in high school with Martin.  Didn’t think highly of her, but rather liked how she made Martin settle down a bit.  While Judy worries about the future of their marriage she thinks Patricia might be the perfect wife for her son.
