The town of Pleasant Port was founded in 1789 when English settlers arrived at what was to become the small, idyllic seaside town it is now. The settlers found the place to be so pleasant they decided to simply name it Pleasant. Soon the town grew bigger and a harbor was founded to bring in followers from back home and new settlers. Hence the town was quickly called Pleasant Port.

After some years, settlers from different countries found their way to Pleasant Port also. People all lived together in peace, some moving further along, some staying and the town slowly grew bigger. Still today different influences from different countries can be found.

Pleasant Port started out as a farmers' community when the first settlers started to settle by the river and still today many farmers can be found in the surroundings of Pleasant Port. Over the years small stores opened in the town and today you can still find most of the stores at their original places.
