Personality

History

The Salinger family has been living in Pleasant Port and its surrounding areas for many generations. Typically, they have had simple lives in the community as teachers, small business owners and blue collar workers.

Frank is the youngest of three and enlisted in the marines right out of high school instead of being drafted. Despite growing away from each other during Frank's service and Francis going off to college, they reconnected when Francis returned to Pleasant Port with Eleanor. The closeness between them has trickled down within their families, and they have spent major family holiday's together at one's house or the other. Early on when their kids were growing up, they also did weekly sunday dinners.

Frank, his wife, son and youngest daughter live in nearby Stanton Hills where he owns and operates Salinger Construction.

• He and his brother, Francis, are die hard Red Sox fans. Frank has been a season ticket holder for years and regularly invites Francis to games. They both played baseball for PPHS and helped create the Pleasant Port-Stanton Hills co-ed softball rivalry that still exists today, even though Francis no longer plays. Frank still plays and coaches the Stanton Hills team.
