Darnell is the white trash stereotype personified. He has jumpy manners, signs from far too much drug use.

Personal History

Darnell was born in Pleasant Port and spent much of his childhood going back and forth between living with his father, in the small town, and living with his mother in Hartford. When he was 10 he started living with his mom full time. After 4 years of living in Hartford his mother determined that she couldn’t control him, he had gotten into drugs and partying hard, and she wasn’t sure what to do. So, she sent him to live with his father, hoping that the small town would calm him.

Instead of taking him out of the social life that Darnell had become accustomed to, it forced him to adapt. Not knowing anyone in the town who could hook him up, Darnell began importing his drugs from outside of Pleasant Port. By the time he was 17 he had dropped out of high school and established himself as a drug dealer.

Darnell’s father died of liver failure when Darnell was 20. He was tempted to return to Hartford once his father’s presence was gone, but he felt like he could be more successful in Pleasant Port. While the demand for drugs isn’t as big as it would be in a city, there was definitely less competition and he had a smooth business running.

For the most part, Darnell has avoided any serious encounters with the law.  However, in 2000 he was charged with assault with a weapon after hitting Brendan Wright in the back of a head with a baseball bat.  Despite the fact that the assault was considered to be a hate crime by many, Darnell only received time served and two years of probation.  Brendan sued Darnell for the damage that he caused, and in 2001 he was forced to pay for the other man's medical bills and legal fees.

There is evidence that he has some minor brain damage, most likely as a combination of various fights he’s gotten into and his drug use, but he’s never had it confirmed.
