Tattoos/Piercings: a small bluebird on her left shoulder blade, about the side of a quater in memory of someone she'd lost that was close to her.
Usually wears: Oversized sweaters or shirts with jeans or pajama pants. She likes to be comfortable.
Never wears: Clothes that cling to her body. She likes to have room to move around in her clothing. She's not big on dressing fashionably either.
Standing at an average height, it's easy to see why her mother worries about her weight. Dana is fairly thin, usually seen with a cigarette hanging from either her mouth or her fingers, though she recently quit. Her brown is often seen wrapped into a messy ponytail at the nape of her neck. High cheekbones are set above a set of Chestnut hued eyes that seem to pull you in when she talks to you. Her favorite thing to wear is an oversized sweater and since she has a hard time finding jeans that fit, they are usually falling off of her as well. Her favorite pair of shoes are a slip on pair with bees printed on the canvas fabric. Her skin is fairly pale, and she is rarely seen with a blemish due to the fact that she was blessed with good skin. She feels fat, though she isn't. She gained some weight during pregnancy that she'd like to shed.
Personality
Dana is quiet and keeps to herself most of the time, unless she's around people she knows well. She spend a lot of time at home, just hanging out and minding her own business usually. She has a fairly good sense of humor, considering all of the things that she has been through in the last year. Most people would call her a cynic, but Dana truly considers herself a realist. She talks things over before she acts, and she is constantly rationalizing her situation. While she is quiet, when she does have something to say, or feels like her opinion needs to be expressed she is willing to express it. Just when you think she'd be opposed to something, her stubborn attitude reveals otherwise.
She is kind and loyal when you get to know her and is the best friend you could have until you betray her. She can be completely loyal to you but she will write you off in a heart beat if you hurt her. Since the passing of Sean she has had a hard time letting people into her world. Lately she has learned to confide somewhat in people and know that everyone isn't out to make sure she's not a basket case. She's made a lot of progress and has learned to cope a little better. She also has a really hard time letting people get close to her. Her roomates are amoung her best friends and she hasn't opened up to them for a majority of what she was going through in the past year. She's hard to read and even harder to understand.
Another person she has a hard time opening up to is her mother, something she deeply regrets. She wished that her relationship with her mom had stayed the same as it was before Sean died, but afterwards her mom seemed to push her to open up, causing Dana to close down. She loves her family dealy, despite how much she complains about them most of the time. Growing up in a large family she secretly hopes for the same later in life. As much as she complains she will be the first to defend someone, be it about her mother being overbearing, or her Aunt Julia being a pain in the ass. Dana has a hard time with people who talk poorly of anyone she cares about. She's quick to defend and often gets a little heated where her family is concernced.
She likes the arts. Her passion is with photography, even if she doesn't think she is very good. Since Sean died she poured herself into her work, staying behind the scenes and not wanting to deal much with customers. The dark manner of her photography is a direct expression of what she was dealing with in her life through the last year. She found that it was very therapeutic and works harder at it.
She began smoking on occasion at sixteen, and drinking on the weekends with her friends. After Sean died, drinking was a daily habit. It quickly escalated from a beer a day into drinking until she was drunk nearly every night. She began seeing a psyciatist under her mother's influence. She's been prescribed sleeping pills, and a low dose anti-depressant. Recently to the surprise of those around her she has stopped smoking and drinking, something that comes as a shock to anyone who knows Dana.
When she found out that she was pregnant it jolted her life in an unimagineable way. It forced her to forget about being sad and upset over Sean, and really allowed her to focuss on herself. It was a great excuse to quit drinking.
Personal History
Dana was born to Paul and Angela Jenkins. She had a fairly normal upbringing and had a happy childhood. She has always gotten along well with her mother and father, and really looks out for her younger brother Lucas. She's always been a good student, and works hard to get the things that she likes or wants. She is very determined and from an early age showed signed of independence far beyond her age. Her best friend growing up was her little brother, who she was rarely seen without, even when they were in highschool she was okay with him tagging along.
When she was young she spent a great deal of time with her brother following her Uncle Tim around. She looked up to him and his friends Adela and Jesse, constantly wanting to look like Adela, and having the biggest case of puppy love for Jesse. They were the people she looked to for advice even today when she wasn't sure what to do or where her life was going. Tim and Dana still remain close having spent a great deal of her life around him she values his opinion greatly.
Her sophomore year she met Sean Lanspeak and Norah Roberts who proved to be a huge impact on her life. Norah would remain one of her best friends for the rest of her highschool years, carrying on to her college days. With Sean she realized early in their relationship that things between them were good. He was a great boyfriend and they were perfect for one another. She saw herself doing the typical Jenkin's thing. Going to college together, getting married, starting a family back in Pleasant Port. After what seemed like a long two years in highschool they graduated together, planning their lives out and hoping to go to college with each other. He was her best friend and the person she felt she was going to spend the rest of her life with. They started their first year at the community college in town. She was undecided and he was ready to go for pre-med, hoping one day to be a doctor.
After highschool Dana started working at the Photo shop her mother owned. After befriending Micah who was a few years older than her she decided that she was independant enough to live on her own. She'd been working at Fresh Mex and then going to the Photo Studio at night to help out her mom, all on top of going to school. She felt she could handle it. Moving in with Micah, Cassie, and Farrah was great. It allowed her to be on her own, even if she was just down the street from her family home. She didn't mind. She loved her family.
The four quickly began to form a unique bond. Micah being the parent of the house, constantly cleaning up after the girls and cooking for them. Despite being the one her mother goes to for information on Dana when she won't spill she trusts him more than anyone. Cassie began as Dana's drinking buddy and quickly became the one she asks for advice. Most of the time they just have fun together which suits her just fine. Sean was always considered the fifth roomate, being around all the time and hanging out with the rest of them.
One night Dana had been at home with the roomates when she got a call from Sean's family. Sean had been in a car accident, hit by a drunk driver. She always considered it the call that changed her life. When she got to the emergency room she was told that Sean wasn't going to make it. A tearful goodbye was her only closure to Sean, who was unconscious and lifeless on the bed. Her life quickly began in a downward spiral, dropping out of college and quitting Fresh Mex. The last thing she wanted was to be about people, let alone people she had to get along with or be nice to.
When she met Brian and got pregnant everything changed. He's a great boyfriend and though she didnt know how things were going to work out, she feels like things are going pretty well. They have two beautiful babies that she can't get enough of. Sophia Grace and Ace Parker are the two new additions to her family that she prides herserlf on.

Relationships with other Characters (Non-family)
 | Former roomate and good friend. Appreciates her a lot. Whenever Dana needs someone to be a cynic with or someone to get her booze, Cassie is the person she goes to. She has grown to appreciate her more and more through the years. | | They sometimes work together, used to live together, and used to smoke together. Though in the last year, she has had a lot going on so the two haven't had as much time to hang out. She still feels like she can trust him, which a big deal for Dana since Micah seems to be her mother's 'go to guy'. She doesn't feel the need to explain things for him or even say much. She appreciates that about him. She has found a new respect for him, because he's so great with the twins. | | Farrah is flighty and talkative, the opposite of Dana. She enjoys hanging out with her and considers her a good friend. | | Adela is Dana's former boss at Fresh Mex. She feels bad for quitting after Sean died, but it was too hard to work around people there for a while. She first met her through her Uncle Tim. She always teases the two of them about what the Jenkin's family thinks of their relationship. | | Works with Dana at the shop. She thinks that he is a pretty nice guy. They don't know each other super well because Dana can be somewhat standoffish, however they maintain a pretty casual relationship. She likes joking around with him when it's not busy. | | Her boyfriend and the father of her two children. She's done a lot better about being a better girlfriend and their relationship has really blossomed from the one night stand that it once was. She respects him a lot and is crazy about him. He gave her two amazing children and she is finally ready to be comfortable with him. | | Dana thinks that Gabriel is pretty much an ass. She's only met him once but she can't stand anything about him. While she is good friends with his daughter Norah, she has never been introduced to him really. Their only meeting was at the Photo Studio. | | She knows Justin through his sister Norah. | | One of her best friends. They have a mutual understanding of staying out of each others business. While they both usually keep to themselves, Norah is the nicer of the two. She loves Norah like she would a sister, though since Sean's death the relationship has been strained. Norah wanted to be there for her and Dana didn't want the attention. Now that they are talking again, Dana is thankful to have someone around that she can be close to around her age. | | Her Uncles good friend. She knew him growing up and always had a little crush on him. | | Met her through Brian at the Wheelhouse Diner where she works. Thinks that she is a little strange, but seems nice enough. |
