Appearance
Anthony is fairly tall, standing at about 6’1”, and he weighs in at 185. He keeps himself in decent shape with a solid build, but he’s not overly muscular. He works out to stay in good health and has a swimmer’s build. He once had light brown hair, but lately he’s kept his head shaven bald. His skin is of an olive complexion and he tans easily in the summer. He dresses nicely and neatly, wears suits to work and only when he’s around the house will he wear a simple t-shirt and jeans. He’ll never wear shorts unless it’s for a tennis match or to swim. When casual, he’ll wear khakis and a button-down shirt, but his clothes are always pressed. He has a scar on the left side of his forehead which is a thin, diagonal line that almost meets his brow.
Personality
Anthony is a quiet and withdrawn man, but he’s not socially inept as he used to be. He doesn’t like crowds, but he’ll put up a front and get by. He can be charming and sociable when he wants to be, but he rarely is. He’s a nice guy, but he’s not outgoing and some people misperceive that as arrogance. His wife has pulled him out of his shell, but he still prefers quiet evenings at home to going out on the town. He's a traditional, conservative man. There are days when he wants to be left alone which sometimes causes a sour mood, but over all he's not a difficult man to get along with, though he has been described as stuffy and dull at times, but that stems from his quiet nature. He’s a hard worker and often works too much. He expects things to be done in an orderly and efficient manner, but he does have an abundance of patience. With his daughter, he has a tendency to be goofy and silly, but that side of him is rarely seen in public.

Personal History
Anthony Feller was born and raised in Buffalo, New York as an only child. He had a modest, conservative upbringing, raised in an upper middle class church-going family. His mother was a schoolteacher and his father ran a boat shop near the lake. When Anthony was twelve, his father was killed in a car accident. It was a difficult time for the boy even though his father had been a distant man, but he was strong for his mother and she was strong for him. She pushed him to stay active and involved in school to give him something else to focus on. His parents had always pushed him academically and he was a bright student. He was captain of the swim team his senior year and graduated as the salutatorian of his class.
Anthony went on to study at Columbia University in New York City on an academic scholarship. He focused on his studies and his social life was almost nonexistent. He went to college with the intention of working in the business world after getting his degree, and he majored in economics with a minor in history, but he soon decided he wanted to teach and he got his high school teaching certificate. For two years after graduating, he taught at an inner city high school. It quickly wore him out and he found himself going back to Columbia University where he completed the MBA program in Finance and Economics. He could have gone on and found a high paying job at a major business or on Wall Street afterward, but he chose to pursue his doctorate instead.
Because of his mother’s poor health at the time, he moved back to Buffalo and studied at the University at Buffalo. A year later, he married Jane Norcross, a young woman who he’d been introduced to at his mother’s church. She was a receptionist at a local law office. He loved her, but their relationship wasn’t a very passionate one. They were too much alike. It worked for awhile, but Anthony was always engrossed in his work. A year after they married, Jane gave birth to a son. They named him Jason. Anthony loved the boy, but he wasn’t as present in his life as he would have liked. After Jason was born, Heather left her job and became a full-time mother and wife. It was roughly the same time Anthony became an economics professor at UB.
It was a rather dull life, but it was a life Anthony was content with. When Jason was two, though, doctors discovered that the boy had a brain tumor. They found it too late, and three months after it was detected, the boy died. It was devastating for both Jane and Anthony, but instead of helping each other through it, Anthony withdrew. He buried himself in his work and their marriage quickly began to dissolve. Anthony slept with a graduate student who was working as his teaching assistant, and when he admitted it to Jane shortly afterwards, she filed for a divorce. He moved out and didn’t try to stop her, so it was a quick and easy ordeal.
Anthony became something of a recluse. He stayed in Buffalo and kept teaching at the university. He experienced many lonely Thanksgivings and Christmases with his aging mother, who was now living in a community for senior citizens. He spent his free time swimming or sailing at the lake in his father’s old sailboat which Anthony renovated on his own. After four years, he finally went on a date with a colleague’s sister, but it didn’t last, and he didn’t see another woman romantically until he met Alice several years later, and if she hadn’t taken the initiative to approach him, he knows they never would have met.
He met her at the lake. He was forty and she was twelve years younger than him, and gorgeous. She was vacationing with her family and happened to be out on a morning walk when he was working on his boat at the dock. He noticed her when she’d walked by that first day, but never imagined she would stop to talk to him. The next day, she was back, and she did. She asked him about the boat, and even convinced him to take her out on it since she’d never been sailing before. Initially it was awkward for him, since he hadn’t been seriously involved with a woman in almost a decade, but he fell hard and fell fast. Whereas he had loved Jane, he was in love with Alice. In the two weeks she was in town, they went on a different date almost every night.
Less than a year later, Anthony and Alice married. He gave up his career at UB to follow her to her hometown of Pleasant Port. For the first couple of years he taught at the local college, and during that time Alice gave birth to their daughter, Audrey. A couple of years after moving to Pleasant Port, Anthony decided to give up teaching for the time being and he wanted to earn a better living for his family. He applied for and received a top position at The Leisure Club, making far more than he ever got as a professor. He’s been working there since. On occasion he’ll give a guest lecture or seminar at the college. Since his arrival in Pleasant Port, he’s moved his mother to a retirement community about an hour away.

Family Background
 |
wife |
Alice Feller, 41: Anthony and Alice have been married for almost fourteen years. They married on March 25, 1993. Anthony is in love with his wife, but when it comes to their marriage, he's not the most expressive man with his feelings, especially in public. His tendency to work more than he should has also put considerable strain on their marriage at times. The two are almost as opposite as night and day, with her outgoing and uncaged spirit against his reserved and quiet nature. Some have claimed that they've lasted so long because they're so different, but sometimes it can be overwhelming, and sometimes Alice gets bored with her husband's "dull" lifestyle |
 |
daughter |
Audrey Feller, 12: The other woman in his life, Audrey is Anthony's world. He adores her and spoils her whenever he can, and often feels guilty for working so much instead of spending time with her. Now that the two women of the house are clashing as Audrey is becoming a teenager, Audrey is closer to her father. |
 |
Mother |
Evelyn Feller, 76: Anthony has always had a close relationship with his mother. Unable to leave her on her own in New York, he's moved her to a retirement community not far from Pleasant Port. |
Relationships with other Characters
 |
Gabriel is Anthony's boss at the club. Even if none of them considers they're friends, they spend a lot of time together because Anthony is what Gabriel considers 'his right hand'. Anthony knows very well the Parker family, especially Justin, who is being trained to continue his father's business. |
 |
Justin is his boss's son. He is expected to help Justin with things like buying suits and training him to follow in Gabriel's footsteps. While he takes his job seriously, he is definitely more relaxed with Justin than Gabriel is. |
