 Personality 

All his life, Andrew had tried to be a nice person. It all changed when he met Kate when he was in college in Texas. Despite the fact that he loved her, she grated him the wrong way after a while, eventually abusing him physically instead of just emotionally. He took it for the sake of his children but when she began to hit his children and found out about it, he began to hit her in retaliation once to make her stop, an incident which was witnessed by his children. He reported the abuse of his children but he didn't report the abuse that she had done on him, preferring to simply ignore it. It made his case more difficult, but he couldn't allow himself to admit that he was a battered spouse. Once she was arrested and out of jail, he served her with court papers. Now, his entire family hates him, and not only do his daughters, but also his ex wife as well. Throwing himself into his work since he has no one else, he has a rather quiet but lonely life. He still hopes to one day reconnect with his daughters but doesn't know if that will ever happen. Now that he's found out that he's now a grandfather to a grandchild that he knows he might never meet, it's just made his inner pain that much greater. If he ever allowed himself to see a psychologist, he'd be diagnosed with depression.

Andrew wants to know his daughters, but they won't let him in after witnessing him hitting their mother. Every attempt to explain himself to his daughters have all fallen on deaf ears.
