Amy joins the Speech and Debate team, although she is really interested in the individual "forensics" events as they are less adversarial and more performanced based. |

Amy competes in an individual prose interpretation competition. Since Harvard didn't send a full team, it was not scored and was actually more like an "exhibition" performance. It received some attention because her selection included exerpts from Cry, the Beloved Country, about Apartheid. |

Amy gets a letter from Brendan Wright and he "comes out" to her. She jokingly responds, "Oh my gosh, I'm totally responsible for your gayness....", something she often says to this day.... |

Amy begins her year abroad at Oxford studying English Language and Literature, specifically old and middle English. |

Amy takes a trip to Manchester, and does extensive research for her family's geneology. |

Begins her senior year of college. She becomes involved with the Radcliffe Research Institute. |

Steven proposes to Amy at a public dinner with his family and friends. She has reservations, mainly because she feels they have grown apart in the time she has been away and also because she feels she is not ready, but she says yes anyway. |

Amy returns Steven's ring and tells him that she doesn't want to marry him afterall. They break up as a couple but still sleep together from time-to-time. |

On her 21st birthday, Amy's father buys her first legal drink - A Whiskey and Water. Coupled with all the other drinks she has that night, she ends up quite sick. |

Begins graduate school and as part of her research, she publishes articles in several academic journals regarding language study and composition instruction. |
2000s

Starts teaching basic composition classes at Bunker Hill Community College. She also meets and begins to date a fellow grad student, Jared Markenson. |

Publishes a collection of short stories and continues to teach at the community college. |

Considers law school but ultimately decides against it and applies for the Peace Corps instead. |
| Winter 2003 |
Sleeps with Steven Villard for the last time. He tries to convince her to accept his proposal to marry him again but she tells him that she's been accepted into the Peace Corps and will be leaving for two years. She doesn't expect he'll be extending the offer again when she comes back. |

Amy leaves for Peace Corps Training in South Africa. As part of her training, she learns the native language of the region she'll be working in, Afrikaans. |

Amy's Peace Corps service in South Africa officially begins. She is ent to work in the Northern Cape province, in a rural area outside of the capitol city of Kimberley. She stays with an Afrikaaner host family, The Roussows. |

The 46664 Concert is held in Capetown, South Africa. Amy attends with her host family and other Peace Corps volunteers. |

Eliza's father proposes to Carrie on Mother's Day. The newly engaged couple plan to wed in early 2006 so that Amy can attend the wedding and be the Maid of Honor. |

Amy completes her Peace Corps service and returns to Pleasant Port in time for Thanksgiving. She recieves word from Steven that he is working Washington, DC and that he's engaged. But he makes it clear that he is still "in love" with her. |

Meets Alexander Stone at the bookstore and after a goodnatured argument, about religion, he asks her out. |

Carrie leaves Eliza's father at the altar after she finds out in a conversation the night before the ceremony that he has cheated on her. Being a dutiful maid of honor and caring sister, Amy agrees to do whatever she can to cheer Carrie up. Amy ended up unknowingly committing herself to participating in Carrie's retaliation against her would be groom - keying his car. |

Amy begins teaching composition classes at Pleasant Port Community College. Her father also teaches at the college and sometimes she'll sit in on his classes to observe. |

Having missed her 10 year high school reunion because of her Peace Corps service, Amy makes an impromptu visit to Boston. While touring the school, she discovers that her high school sweetheart, Seth Anderson, is teaching there. They reconnect and eventually they are able to move beyond the awkwardness of their youth to finally sleep together. |

Francis and Eleanor retire to Florida, leaving the family home in Amy's care. |

Amy begins teaching her second semester at the community college, picking up other courses like Critical Theory and Contemporary Poetry. Having decided that she plans to stay in the area, she applies to the Yale doctoral program. |

Amy and a few other single female adjuncts join Cole Cleyburne, Ethan Hauer and both their younger brothers (Logan Cleyburne and Evan Hauer) for a night of drinking on the town. According to her, "way too much alcohol had been consumed, causing way too much silliness and stupidity to be put on display." |

Amy meets up with childhood friend Cole Cleyburne while shopping and they reminisce about some memories. Amy teases him about Carrie and eventually invites him to Christmas Dinner. |

Amy attends Midnight Mass with Alex. When he drives her home and mentions that he's thinking of moving back to Ireland, Amy unexpectedly kisses him. She invites him inside but he turns her down saying that he wants to be sure about what he is feeling. |

Amy recieves a voicemail from Alex explaining that Jackie has returned to town. In an effort to keep from thinking about it, she takes Eliza and Lady to Hillside Park. There, they meet up with Miko Ronin and make snow angels. |

Amy's extended family is over for dinner and her uncle offers her the use of his car for her upcoming busy semester of teaching and learning. Amy seeks out advice from her sister and Cole about the Alex situation. |

When Alex comes to see her and tells her he does not want to be with Jackie, Amy is optimistic about them being together. When Alex pleads with her not to talk about their feelings, she agrees. Then, in her attempts to throw caution to the wind, she hardly objects to sex in the backseat of Alex's car, despite it being parked in her driveway and a houseful of family not too far away. |

In the morning, Amy goes running to keep from having to face an inquisition about her trist with Alex the night before. She meets up with friend Michel Decker and they talk about books. Later in the evening, she goes over to Grace Gibson's house where they have wine. Amy gets a "booty call" from Alex and goes over to his house somewhat tipsy. |

Amy wakes up at Alex's house to find out that they didn't have sex the previous night due to her intoxication. But the two manage to make up for it. |

Amy takes Eliza to Cafe Atlantique for a real "tea party". in the afternoon/early evening, her uncle stops by to drop off his car for her to use for the new year and shortly after she heads over to Brendan Wright's for a play date. Late that evening, Cole stops by and reveals to Amy that he kissed Jackie....and then he also tells her that he and her sister Carrie were together that summer. At first, Amy is upset at the news as she worries about what it'll do to her 'thing' with Alex. But after a few glasses of 151 to help the news go down, she realizes she can't stay mad at Cole, especially when he seems so remourseful about it himself. |

Amy and Eliza meet up in the park with Alex and Connor for a day of sledding. |

Waking up feeling the onset of a cold (and seeing that Eliza is not much better), Amy stops by the pharmacy to pick up some medicine. Unfortunately, her hopse for a simple solution for their illness doesn't go as well as planned. Eliza gets worse and Amy takes her to the hospital. Carrie's flight is delayed. |

After spending all night at the hospital with her neice and waiting for Carrie to arrive, the threesome arrive home for a bit before Amy drives them to the airport and sees them off to Cali. Amy then returns to the house and dozes on the couch after returning Alex's call. Alex urges her to come stay with him and Connor while she is sick, but ever the stubbornly independant woman, Amy refuses. Eventually, Alex and Connor come over anyway, bringing along the boy's video game, which Amy gets 'schooled' in how to play. Both Alex and the boy end up staying over. |
2008

Amy wakes up early feeling well enough to make Alex and Connor breakfast as a thank you for keeping her company. After seeing them off, she takes more medicine and then crawls back into to bed for another round of sleeping. After noon, she wakes and is visited by another friend, Sarah, who brings her chicken soup. They also use the time to catch up. |

After Sarah leaves, Amy sets about showering and picking up the house from the night before. Then she goes up to her office to try and get some work done. In the middle, Cole stopps by to check on her. |

Cole comes over and they discuss the upcoming Manchester Family Reuinion in Vermont, to which Amy has invited him to help be her shield against her ex boyfriend, Steven Villard. That evening, her Road Hockey team, The Raiders, wins their opening game in the tournament. |

Amy stops by to visit Alex after receiving a drunken voicemail from him the day before. |

At Amy's family reunion event, she does fairly well early in the day to avoid being alone with Steven. Unfortunately, there is a point where she gets stuck with him in her grandmother's kitchen. Luckily for her, Cole comes to her rescue and on the fly concocts a plan to fend Stevne off by pretending that they are a couple. While immensely awkward at times, it is also highly amusing for them both and it is actually quite successful. |

After returning from Vermont in the wee hours of the morning, a sexually frustrated Amy texts Wes, inviting him over. He accepts the invitation and they have finally sex. Later on in the morning, Wes attempts to leave to avoid the "morning after" and any complications that come with it. Surprisingly, Amy is not looking for more from him and instead convinces him to stay for their version of 'breakfast in bed'. That evening, The Raiders win their semi final match in the Road Hockey Tournament against Ethan and Brendan, and Corey's team, The Royals. |
