Thin and waiflike, with dyed black hair and blue eyes. Adina usually wears a lot of black, often an impractical (for the climate) dress and thigh high black leather boots. She also often wears a fair amount of silver jewellery, including a pentagram pendant. Adina occasionally displays supernaturally themed fake tattoos on any exposed skin when she feels it will earn her a reaction.

Personality

Adina delights in keeping people off their guard, often with witty comments or outrageous opinions, whilst in truth she usually believes little of what she says.  Whilst she used to like the attention of others, regardless of whether it is positive or negative, Adina has been taking steps to make up for some of her past indecretions.

Regardless she still loves getting a rise out of her father, feeling some deep seated urge to prevent any return to the relationship they shared in her childhood, which has only strengthened following his introduction of Karen Simpson.  Originally it was due to the awakening and desire to rebel from her obedient childhood self that she earned at college, but now it is a force of habit she can’t seem to drop, fuelled only by his continued treatment of her brother.  Her choice to practise as a Wiccan itself was originally just to agitate her more serious father moreso, although she has since embraced the religeon truthfully.

Adina has always had a soft spot for her brother, she knows he’s been through a lot and probably has a long way to go, and she’s more than willing to help him in any way she can, but everytime she tries to help or stand up for him it only worsens their relationship.  She is often puzzled when she feels compelled to show him affection, in part feeling like she's taking her mother's place.

Following her mother’s murder, her need to be the centre of attention has kicked into reverse for a time, as she was surrounded by people who were more interested in helping her grieve than be insulted by her antics. This attention, combined with the feelings of grief and loss she’s was carrying, heavily weighed her down and forced her to revaluate her life, starting with her spirituallity.

Personal History

Adina was born and raised in Pleasant Port, travelling through her childhood with all the love and support from her otherwise shut off father and would do anything to gain his approval or otherwise make him happy.

During high school she fell in love with one of her best friends, Adam Sanders. They dated all through high school and part of Adina hoped they’d one day get married and have children, right there in Pleasant Port. Things changed around graduation, with the self-realisation that he was gay, leaving Adina heartbroken and alone, without knowing why he broke up with her until many years later.

Feeling the urge to leave the Port and find out who she was after her daddy’s girl childhood and failed relationship, Adina left town for college and whilst there opened her mind to every experience that presented herself, resulting in a rather messy rebirth.

Returning from college a new woman, she felt the urge to impress these changes on everyone she meets, family and friends both old and new. But since starting she hasn’t been able to stop as it has merely become part of her nature and the still somewhat immature woman she has become.

For a long time when she’d first returned she initially refused to speak with her father, seeing him as the root of the problems that had plagued her former self, although their relationship re-established itself somewhat after Micah’s accident brought them all back together. Her mothers murder has however neither strengthened or weakened the relationship, as her urge to be closer to him over the situation is countered by him being the bearer of her mother’s death notice.

Adina let her brother move in with her for a time after he got out of rehab, which allowed her to further connect with Micah in a way they hadn’t been able to as children, especially due to her strong childhood relationship to their father and his constantly poor relationship with the same. She never understood the seriousness or complexity of her brother’s addiction, having experimented with drugs heavily in college with no ill effects.

Following her brother’s accident, her mother had insisted on them trying to all re-establish their familial bounds and whilst she had been less and less reluctant to do so, her mother’s death cut short any further progression toward this goal.

With their mother's death now just a painful memory she continues to attend the family dinners in an attempt to spend at least some time with her family, be it hostile or less hostile.  She has been focussed on developing herself spiritually since Naomi's death and it trying to become a better person, a better sister (in-law) and maybe, one day, a more pleasant daughter.

Family member Name Age Relation Adina's feelings
Jeffrey Lewis 58 Father Adina and her father used to get along really well, but now the two are constantly on opposite sides of a discussion. Fights are easily sparked, causing her father to tread carefully whenever dealing with her because he doesn’t want to lose his daughter again.  His relationship with Karen Simpson though runs the risk of heightening the tension even further however.
Naomi Lewis 57 Mother Adina and her mother got along well when she was younger, but the two never really connected, as Adina was always Jeffrey’s little girl. They grew futher apart as Adina grew up and became unable to deal with her mother’s ability to cope with the harshness of the real world. With her death Adina came to regret not having a better relationship with her mother.
Micah Lewis 26 Brother Adina's relationship with her brother frustrates her, as the more she tries to be helpful, the larger the distance between them gets.  She used to used him as a pawn in her fights with her father, but not spends more time defending him.
