Who Lives There?
Brief History
Amy's father and grandfather built this house together shortly after Richard and Eleanor married. Until it was finished, Amy's parents lived in an apartment together in the downtown area. The home that her grandparents owned and lived in was sold after Amy's grandfather died and her grandmother moved to Florida (where her parents now live as well). Years before Amy moved back to Pleasant Port, the house was painted blue.
There are only two actual floors of the house. The main floor is where the bulk of the living space is (kitchen, dining, living) and the interior of this area looks like the inside of a cabin with exposed beams (see pictures). The master bedroom and bathroom are also on this floor but the walls are finished and "normal" looking.
Off from this, there is a stairway that goes up to a loft area. This is where Amy's office currently is. The other part of stairway goes down to the bottom floor, which is likened to a finished basement. There are two bedrooms (which were once Amy and her sister Carrie's and are now guest rooms) and a TV/Family/hobby room.
As can be seen from the front of the house, there is a deck that comes down into the backyard. Amy's mother set up several birdhouses and feeders and often Amy spends hours sitting to watch them. Just inside the deck doors is a large dining table that has been in the family for years and has been at the center of many a family meal.
